The Heavy Equipment Electrician is responsible for the electrical servicing, diagnostics, and repair of heavy machinery and construction equipment. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, safety compliance, and minimal downtime through proactive maintenance and rapid fault resolution.
๐ Key Responsibilities
– Perform electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders).
– Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and internal schedules.
– Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical systems including wiring, sensors, control panels, and lighting.
– Respond to breakdowns and emergency service calls, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
– Collaborate with mechanics and engineers to resolve complex electrical/mechanical faults.
– Maintain accurate service records and report recurring issues to supervisors.
– Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes during all tasks.
– Keep workshop tools, equipment, and workspaces clean and organized.
